The other day" last Sunday in fact", I was in a local food store with a coin star machine. I couldn't of done better at the casino , well maybe, but I got all of these plus about another 89 cents in change. Hey I ain't proud
I check the coin star machine every time I'm at the store. I've only gotten a dime and a couple of world coins that I already owned out of them. I still check every time
Always gotta check the coinstar. Might only find something once every 50 times but sometimes it REALLY pays off. This was my coinstar find a few months ago(+ ~$1 in modern US coins only worth FV that I didn't photograph):
Last time I found 4 clad dimes, a 2 Euro cent and a 1943-S steel cent. Steelie wasn't that bad either, it replaced the corroded one I had in my 41-74 Lincoln folder.
dang those are nice finds, I need to check coinstar more. One time I found a nice looking 1977-s Lincoln (I rarely check coin star)
Very Nice I always check and also the trash can next to it, if there is one. found two $1 casino tokens (in the trash can) plus other foreign coins. Oh yea in the reject trap I have also found silver dimes and other damage coins at least the machine identified it as damage. But I have never found a silver quarter in there. wonder why? only dimes.
I've always wondered why people would try putting thing like this or maby just ended up from a change can or kids, ive gotten some cool stuff in s coin bank mschine, I saw it told this female greeter, she grabbed it and gave it to me; one thing she opened the door and there was also a handful, I didnt know there was a catch in the machines
My last find was 11 cents. Just a normal Lincoln and a clad dime that didn't get counted because they were stuck together with sticky goo.
I used to check the CoinStar machine but now my 9 year old daughter beats me to it. She finds things every now and then but the chance that she might find something cool to add to her collection keeps her looking. Guess I'm raising her right!
Nice finds, the other day I did a QCC (Quick Coinstar Check) as I was leaving Walmart, and saw coins in there, but had my hands full and did not end up grabbing them. Maybe next time.
