it pays to be nice to your teller!

Note that is one of the things stated here. It still pays to be nice to your teller(wife also).

Went to one of the banks I frequent where they know me Friday. Asked for 10 rolls of halves. Lady went to the vault and came back with all ten rolls. No problem.
Mostly the problem is that many banks do have rolls of halves but since not a common coin, they are put in the main vault. If a busy bank, that would mean the teller would have to lock up, go to the vault to get them. This would mean holding up a line for a long time for just one person so if they don't know you they are instructed to say I don't have any. Not a lie, that teller wouldn't have any, they are in the vault. If that teller is not authorized to enter the vault, they must go to a person that is authorized and then that person too is holding up someone. If your a well recognized customer, they will do it for you but you should always attempt to find a time when not to busy. I really know how it ticks me off when someone holds up a line for anything, so naturally not a good idea to do it to others.
Usually true of $2 bills, an occational Ike dollar, etc.
