It is impossible to find good easy to use coin & banknote free software.

www.numismaster.com lets you store your collection for free. There is a downloadable excel sheet that you can fill up offline and upload later. Don't be fooled by the ads trying to get you to buy a subscription to Krause online, the cataloging is free, and it can generate reports. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to do so. The only thing stopping me is the sheer number of coins I will need to input.
