When in London the other day (I will talk more about it in another thread), I found an Isle of Man pound in my change.
I was just going through my small collection of foreign coins and came across this one that I've had for years. It's not as nice as some of the others posted, but still a nice old coin. Sorry about the repeat pic of the obverse. Bruce
nice coins, i have at least 1 copy of each guernsey definitive issue coins dating from 1830 i double up to the current £2 coin. do you have both versions of the scalloped edge 3d piece? 1 has a thick flan and one has a thin flan
this is the 1966 ten shilling coin which commemorated the 900th anniversary of the battle of hastings............
i find gurnsey jersey and isle of man stuff in change quite often. not the one i put the pic up of though
it is quite4 common to find different coins in your change in the uk, the best i have found is a swaziland lilangeni which is the same size and colour as a pound coin.
i have this beauty from the island of alderney it is a £1 coin commemorating the end of the war ineurope and is in proof condition
The pound is like the euro in that way. It's multinational. You can get, the UK, Jersey, Guernsey, Man and Gibraltar, in Europe and also the Falklands and some other islands.
I find very interesting coin. I've searched it during the last 3 years. It's a 4-doubles coin (1956). Mintage is rather low: 240000 pcs. Grade: Brilliant Uncirculated, I suppose. Am I right?
My new purchase. I've got it today for 1 $ 80 cents. 5 new pence 1968, copper-nickel, mintage - 800000 pcs. The single release only.
