ISIS new gold silver currency?

Just read an article that this group is now forming their own currency backed by gold, silver, and copper.

What are your thoughts on this? If they do create their own currency, will it have any impact on the PM markets?

Great... They have to be the ones who come up with this. Why not the Swiss or somebody who doesn't cut anyone's head off?

 

I hope they back all their money with precious metals, this way, the world can split it, when we all seize it !!!

This is just a ploy to give themselves legitimacy. It will never work.

 

I know this is an emotional issue, but NO Politics, World events discussions. I have just removed such posts to here, but I will have to go further if it continues from here. You should know the rules.

 

The "Islamic state" should not around for any length of time which might make these coins collectible.

agreed, but I am not going over to get one...nor supporting them in any way. Maybe this will speed things up as the last time this was tired it was Qadaffi with his Gold Dinar attempt...he did not last 3 weeks.

There are none, he mentioned it an all of a sudden, he was no more....

I prefer coins from the Holy Land Mint of Israel.

 

I don't think it would have much impact on the market. Anyone can create a PM backed currency but it is fairly well worthless if there is no intent, means, ability or reliabiiity for its conversion.

 

Why on earth would any true American want any of these coins?

 

If melt...why not but it is not something I stand for by any means.......they are the new boogieman for now...

 

Even terrorists have pipe dreams, which I'm certain is all this will ever amount to.

 

I'm skeptical any mint would manufacture these.

 

The whole thing irks me too much. I don't want any!
