Is this1963 penny a product of a poor alloy mixture?

    Also this coin is slightly warped and goes thick on one side to very thin on other. It was my most interesting find tonight so I thought I'd share it an see what the pros think.

    I say no to Improperly Mixed Alloy. But the Cent does look tapered.

    Oldhoopster It seemed like a good idea at the time.

    It looks like environmental damage. Copper is a very reactive metal and loves to combine with all kinds of stuff that comes in contact

    It starts thick on one end then thins towards the other. Or vice versa.

    Some are major and many are minor. The cent is question I consider minor. Probably thicker looking on one side do to a high pressure strike. That would cause the Rim to look thicker.

    I found a woody a few days ago and have only read a small article on alloy mix errors and asked questions on here but have only seen few examples of it so I wanted check. Thanks for replies
