I'm not much into paper money. I got this in change and was curious. Thanks 2012-07-20_19-24-33_346.jpg

it was printed sideways, must be rare!

But you might be able to find someone who wants that low a number, as for value, anything over $1.00 is pure profit

Strange that a low serial like that one wasn't pulled out before it ended up in that condition. It's pretty beat up.
    But a cool find.

You could sell your note for around $10 to the right buyer. I once sold a 2003 $5 note in comparable condition that was in I believe the 300s for $25.

Someone over on the www.wheresgeorge.com/ forum found a $1 note this past year that had serial number 33333333. The note had seen considerable circulation before it was found. I guess 99% of the general population couldn't care less about serials or old notes, etc.

99% of the general population recognizes that when they see "odd" serial numbers on bills (all one number, or very low serial number, or repeaters, or whatnot) that those numbers are just as rare or valued as (as in 'not') ones without those characteristics. So that if 6000000 bills were printed from serial number 00000001 through 06000000, the rarity of having one that is 03100310 or 00000009 is just as rare as having one that is 05818442 or 02299456. So unless they play dollar poker with the bills, they just aren't interested and can't conceive that certain bill serial numbers are valued in any way.

Most people don't really look at the serial numbers.

That's probably true. My dad used to carry a liar's poker dollar or two around in his wallet, but it was usually something like 22387228. Nothing fancy, and nothing that would be a (practically) guaranteed win like 33333333.

A solid is ripe to get picked in liar's poker. The key is knowing the best bid. If you hit me with 8 or 9 3's, I will likely get your very valuable solid, because I can likely determine the correct number - someone bidding that many has too many of one number.

Would love to snare a solid...
