    Hello friends,
I'm trying to figure out if this provincial coin has Claudius' bust on the obverse.
I saw a similar piece with the head of Augustus on the reverse. from Troas.
    Any clues?

    Thank you!

It seems to be a pseudo-autonomous coin with the senate on the reverse. I think the obverse doesn't look like Claudius or Augustus, perhaps Gaius Caligula?

Isn't the reverse Demos or the Senate?

I'm not an expert on these provincials, but my guess would be Domitian.

    Many thanks again, nerosmyfavorite68!
It certainly looks similar. At least we know that Demos is showing in the reverse.

Thank you so much, cmezner! So it was Trajan for sure! One of my favorites :)

However, there is no name in the inscription which is ΑΥΤ(Ο) ΚΑΙϹΑΡ(Α) ϹΕΒ (Imperator Caesar Augustus); just wondering how on Earth they know it is Trajan? The reference von Fritze was published in 1913, and BMC says it is Augustus....
