Is this really an Edward the Martyr Silver Penny Coin?

  1. Hello,

I've come across this silver coin which appears to be a silver penny depicting Edward the Martyr c.975AD. The portrait looks a little off but having looked at various images of the coin they all seem slightly different. I've had the coin tested with a Niton DXL XRF Machine and can confirm it is pure silver. It measures about 2cm in diameter and weighs about just of 1g. I've included some photos below. Any advice on how to authenticate this type of coin would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks IMG_20240417_150902.jpg IMG_20240417_150615.jpg

Here is a real one, which is PCGS certified. It came from a well known London dealer.
