Is this PVC damage/residue?

    Depends how heavily someone weighs strike in how they grade. Some people give it leeway in lower grades below say gem level while other people will penalize a weaker strike at any grade. Personally I give it some leeway on issues like this, the next poster may not.

    This is to me a classic au 58. There's obvious rub on the tops of the wings the hand and the knees

    Looks AU to me too. TPG's tend to be more lax with older coins though, right? Especially with pre 1850s coins. At least that's what my observations convey.

    My observations are that they are not "age biased" at all, but rather lax with everything in today's world. Even so, once in a while, they still do manage to get one right. Just don't hold your breath while trying to find one ;)
