Proof toning is generally more vibrant in pictures than in real life

Hhhmmmmm..... The sellers name suggests he may have some experience with toned examples. Reminds me of my teenage fascination with black lights.

I have seen clad proofs get vibrantly toned before. This one is not the craziest I’ve seen.

I am guessing that because I looked at the EBay ad, I just received an email telling me the bidding is about to end. Currently at $200.00.... Just, wow..

Both are equally possible. But I suspect the latter is more probable.

Dillan The sky is the limit !

I view these wild rainbow and purple /pink coins as damage . If the coin was supposed to be purple the mint would make them purple and sell them for more money themselves. This is only my opinion take from it what you want and leave the rest. I know some coins turn color if left in a plastic flip that is not a good quality. I had a Jefferson nickel in a flip and it turned purple. I think this happens when there is a unwanted chemical reaction, and time will tell if it starts to really cause more damage. nice to see Yoda online!!

Agreed - most of his eBay coins have some sort of toning and most have a variety of toning descriptors (is monster an acceptable descriptor? - I hate that term for coins:yuck:) - have a look at this JFK half > if that happened unassisted, I'm a noob...

I've seen proof clad quarters with those exact same colors before I'm guessing that coin was stored up in an attic in Florida;)
