Hello everyone, just been looking at a lot of pennies today and my eyes are seeing double. :oldman: This 1992 penny looks like doubling on the ear, just your thoughts.

    Thank you

Not a doubled ear, nor a Close AM, if that was your next question…the ear needs to resemble the 1984 or 1995 types, this is not at all.

The coin is a very nicely preserved CPZ (copper-plated zinc) and worth keeping…
a little bit of flat hair (obv) and weak letters (rev), the result of a slightly weak strike, imo, but the condition is MS63 or 64, ignoring the small spot on the reverse.

    …jmho…Spark

Like the others said, not a doubled ear. Since you're asking the question (and I myself did this here when i was new), check out http://www.lincolncentresource.com/
Lots of good information here, photos of your doubled ear coin you have in question and lots of others. Really a great site!

It's from the strike. Here it is elsewhere on the profile...

Appears to be a platting issue rather than an error or variety.
