Thanks for the response @Skyman! Hope you had a nice 4th. I like that 831 numbered one as well, I think it's pretty cool looking. It's something that I think I would see myself appreciating in a type set perhaps, but it's hard to know without holding it in person. To you point about prices - I did check the price guides and past sales and as per usual, these coins are listed more expensive than the price guide which is significantly above past sales.

I see that you like toned Franklins, so you are probably a good guy to bother in my search for one ). You definitely have some really nice ones in that set. I think your 1951-D in 65FBL is absolutely gorgeous. That's like my ideal Franklin half I think. If only I could find one like that.

Thank you. I have been following all the threads on the pcgs forums about artificial toning and market acceptable vs not and while I would not say I am an expert, it seems like there is a pretty stark line between NT and AT - a lot of the time you just know it when you see it based on how the colors go. Or so I hope. I did stick to slabs - are you seeing a lot of AT toned Franklins in straight graded slabs?

Is there a particular reason why those 3 years are the best? Gosh if I could find any 65FBL Franklin that looks like your 1951-D... Is that a true 65 to you? Perhaps a 65+ today? The 66 on photograde looks a little more.
