Is this an error?

    Welcome To Coin talk. I think that this is not an error maybe just damage.

    I assume you mean around the edge, but I'm unsure because you are not stating to us what you are thinking. It's hard to read minds over the internet.

    but you can see metal pushed around or simply removed with what looks like coarseness left behind. That would mean someone/thing hit or scraped parts away. Which is considered damage.

    If you were to check and catalog your change for the next 3 months of what is "different" I'm sure 99.9% and greater things you would see would be damage of some type.
