Is this an error Oregon 2005 quarter?

    My son received this in his change. Is this an error coin? See pictures attached. The edge is smooth, looks copperish. it is smaller than the other quarters and has a large lip. 2005 P Oregon state quarter. Front.JPG Side View.JPG Smaller.JPG Stacked View.JPG Back.JPG

    Spooning = more uniform contact around the entire perimeter.

    Dryer = hit or miss contact and hardly uniform.

    I agree it has the appearance of a spooned coin...regardless of cause, it is post-strike damage.
