Is this a split, separation lines, and doubling

    I was told by a gentleman...I'm not going to say who for he cant defend himself at this time....that I have no idea what I'm talking about...I found an 82P-1DO-001, 83P-1DR-002, and 84P-1DO-002 and he told me these pics are bad and there is nothing to see

    I am going to say DDD based on what I see in the pics, but wait for other opinions.

    Can you please specify which cent this is? You list 3 different examples. Are these images of all 3, 1, or a completely different cent?

    None of those look like an 83P DDR-002. Even my crappy chinese-made USB scope shows the splitting better than the photos provided. I'm not sure about the other ones you mentioned since I haven't looked them up.

    Sean...from your pix, the other gentleman was right. IMO, what you are seeing is doubling induced by glare...Spark

    So how do I cut the glare and if I cant what do I look for in the glare to distinguish....machined is very clear but it seems that actual doubling is impossible......maybe I'm just a rookie and I'm not getting shown the right way

    Using 2 small lights at 10 and 2 o'clock will will balance your light source, but diffused light is the fix. The jury is still out on what works for each person. You could spend hundreds unnecessarily for beyond what you need, so research carefully before you buy.

    I use a dual gooseneck spotlight I bought from Amscope/$112.00 ( search Amazon or Amscope for “6LED”). It has a variable slider to adjust intensity, and the gooseneck flexibility gets the light where you need it. I’m working on a diffusion scheme for it now.

    Usually diffusion for lamps is a white paper filter in front but you can’t use this on tungsten lamps because even 25 watt gets too hot and becomes a fire danger...I know because I tried (unsucessfully). You have to use small, cool temp led lights of some kind, unless you spend xtra bucks for a professional camera rig.

    SEAN RICHARD Member have a 50 dollar microscope that has led lights built in.....I guess I should turn it down and use different lights
