Is this a replacement note?

I added some new North Korean bills to my collection. I noticed the 100 won note's serial number starts with a 9. Does anyone know if this is a replacement note. I am pretty sure that is how South Korean signifies "star notes" but I'm not sure on this one.
    Any ideas or resources?
    I couldn't find much online.

No idea, but, if they keep it up, politically, it may be very valuable as a token of a vanished society.

Yeah no kidding. I read the Korean news and US news. It sounds like it might not be too much longer so I thought I would hold on to some for kicks and history.

If you can lay hands on this book it should tell you what you need to know. You might be able to obtain a copy through an interlibrary loan, if your local library participates.

I'll definitely check that out. I have looked through a couple books that I have on hand and it isn't listed. My guess is that there might not be any solid information on replacement notes considering the current predicament but I'm for sure going to take a look!
