Is this a newly discovered PCI Sample Slab

So while on the subject of PCI what are the newer blue label slabs and how do they fit in to the PCI history.

Yes Cameron worked for ICG.

What blue label? Have a picture? There were blue labels years ago that were used for foreign coins but maybe you have something else.

 

Undiscovered slabs are a part of grading company history; quite a few people collect unusual slabs; it is fun finding something that no one else has seen before.

Or it could completely bore one and that's perfectly fine too!

Here is a snippet from the about us page:

Pretty much all the coins I see are MS 70 Silver Eagles or MS 66/67 Morgans and Peace Dollars.

@Burton Strauss III and/or @Conder101 do either of you know what the latest news is with PCI? Does someone still grade and slab coins there?

 

Yes, there is still somebody running a business named PCI. If you look on eBay you'll occasionally see coins for sale with cert#s from the low 1000s to something over 10K.

Now this predates the PCI small slabs (when Hallmark went under then-PCI bought the whole shooting match).

But Hallmark issued several sample slabs including this one

That is one of the rarest sample slabs (I can only think of a few samples that would rival it: PCGS Regency Sample, NGC black 1.0 sample {if one exists}, NGC white 2.0 or 2.1 sample {if one exists}, PCGS white rattler sample {if one exists}, and the Compugrade sample).

The "new" PCI used a blue & white label completely different from the TN product w/green (normal), red (problem), and blue (foreign) banknote boarders on the label.

Don't feel stupid, you just didn't think it out or were uninformed. That goes for me too as I often feel "stupid."

We collectors' are a rare sort. If it was made, someone collects it, as soon as something gets published, more find out about it and join in.

Do you know what a "finial" is? I didn't until I learned that some folks collect them. Some are kinda neat. Some are even coin-like.
