    Welcome to the forum!
Not a mint error. Post Mint Damage (PMD). Looks like it took a hit under the eye.

I agree, it looks like PMD. Interesting that it would happen just under the eye though.

PMD (post mint damage) like the name though.

Why are you going to each post and just posting question marks?

Seriously....there is a type of this date that has "enhanced tailfeathers" on the reverse, I'm fairly sure it is the Philadelphia one. You will know it when you see it, there is much more detail on the feathers...diagonal lines. The normal, common type has plain tail feathers without the extra detail. A quick web query "Sacagawea enhanced tailfeathers" should pull some hits with info on it for ya.

For even more info about Sacawagea dollars, query the web about "Cheerios Dollars".

The large contact mark on the cheek will detract from the value either way.

@Lexarius ....keep in mind, they call the enhanced tailfeather the "Cheerios" dollar, but some Cheerios coins have been found without the extra detail...Spark

I have a Sacagawea dollar 2001 P and on the reverse side where the vertical wing is stamped it has a second partial stamp of the feathers again. Also the tail feathers are semi stamped again giving it a double Length tail. It is rigid when taking a fingernail across it and the feathers and wing can be seen in the second stamping. Are there any other known errors like this?
