Is this a double die?

    Sorry if the pics are a little blurry, It was the hardest thing trying to get a good pic of the letters on this coin. Thanks

    Doesn't look like it but your pictures need to be better in order for anyone to really see anything IMO.

    Hard to tell, but I think it's probably die deterioration.

    The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die.. not double die.
    Big difference!

    I would think that would mean "two dies." But there's really no such term.

    It's mostly die deterioration. I remember when the 1984 nickels were released. A lot of them had really crappy strikes. For some reason in 1984, I think the dies were used a lot longer than normal.
