is this a defect?

    No, I get those fairly frequently. It's just a very, very minor of center strike. There is no premium in it.

    As i am still fairly new to collecting coins and currency i will accept this small win as my first ever, not quite almost, justabout, so close, slightly defective coin. I shall drink a beer tonight
