Is this a broad strike nickel

    Is it a broad strike error

    Can you post photos of both sides that are taken from directly overhead rather than at an angle?

    I'm not an error collector, but to me it doesn't look like one. If it is, it's not severe enough to be worth much more than face, I would think.

    It could be a partial collar error. Or it could be wear because I see worn lettering near the suspect area.

    I suspected wear, too, and that is why I'd like to see better photos of both sides.

    Hard to tell from the photo but in hand, does it look similar to this? This one is extreme in the lettering but do you notice how the top looks convex? 1 broadstruck jefferson.jpg

    It looks like wear because it is in different places along the rim of each side.

    Hmm...that's sorta interesting. :) If you put it on top of a normal nickel, is it same roundness/size? Weighing it accurately could tell us something too.
