Hello everyone! I'm new to error coins but I've been coin collecting for awhile. After picking up a copy of Strike it rich with pocket change, I have been obsessively studying all of my coins. I found this penny and after searching the internet I cannot figure this one out. I don't know if I'm just confused or going blind from staring at so many screens and books trying to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.
That is considered DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling. Known as worthless doubling and nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety. Unfortunately DDD is not covered in your "Strike it Rich" book.
