Is This 1998 Lincoln Cent, Machine “Doubling”?

    Hello All, and Happy New Year!

    I would like to know, if this 1998 Lincoln cent is Machine “Doubling”, or coin deterioration?

    your comments either way, would be greatly appreciated.

    It appears to be Die Determination Doubling (DDD).

    I think you mean Die Deterioration Doubling, but it doesn't look like that either. The "D" and "W" of IGWT look like they took small hits while in circulation, and the rest look like ordinary machine doubling. ~ Chris

    Yes :facepalm:. Dang spell check! Aside from the PMD, there appears to be plate splitting on the L and no reduction in the raised portion of the I or B. The 8 also shows DDD IMHO. Of course I’ve been wrong before!
