Is there something wrong with this picture? Pix added! (Grade of 2 1/2 Gulden)

    Hi,

I bought this on eBay for $40 as uncirculated. It's a very nice looking coin, and has a ton of luster in person, but could it be misgraded? To my eyes, the front has a lot of imperfections, which looks like it could be rub? Please advise.

    Thank you!
    Ben

There is rub, and on the listing, it looks rubbed, as well. I don't think you should return it, since the photos in the listing look like the coin in hand, and it's not like the seller used weird lighting angles to hide the wear. It looks even more obvious in the listing than in your photos.

That's a lot more than rub, that's out and out wear. To my eyes that coin would grade no better than AU 50.

Looks as maybe even as low as XF, defn. it is out and out wear.
Check your rims you can see circulation dings.

Thanks guys. To me, my pictures show it better, I wouldn't have bought it for that price if the seller had similar pictures to mine. Oh well, I'll see what I can do.

    Thanks!

Is it too late to return it? Did your seller have a return policy?

(I'm just confirming what others have already said)

IMO the coin is worn. It is not UNC. It looks EF to AU in the photos.

I'm curious if you have a link to the original auction?

P.S. Never mind, I see the link now. The seller offered 14 day return & IMO you should exercise that option.

    (Just my opinion)

I would simply contact the seller & inform them that I wanted to return the coin for refund. The return option should be initiated ASAP and within the 14-day return period.

i would say AU or less because of the scratches, still a very nice coin though!

also, the pictures in the auction look better than it actually is, i would say returning it is the right choice in this situation
