I don't think we need to ridicule the OP. He found a coin he believes in. I know I've done that a lot. It is a long process to learn to be objective about a coin. Rare coins a rare. You can look for a long time before finding anything good. It's frustrating for a newbie who thinks they are going to find something. Probably the best answer to someone who won't take no for an answer is to tell them to send it to an expert, or bring it to a coin show and have an expert look at it.

You won't need a C clamp. A pair of pliers will do the trick. The clad layer is fairly thin.
Report back what the results are.

I just now remembered a "Silver Cladded Copper Coin"

The Peace Medal which came in the Westward Journey Nickel Sets was Silver Plating over a Copper Core. Actually, a Bronze Core.

I have a silver clad coin as well. It's a Conder token Middlesex 181 in what they call "Bath metal" It is a copper core with two fairly thick silver layers clad to it (not just plating). If it was thinner the "bath metal" would be referred to as Sheffield plate. In order to make silver services that looked like the real sterling silver sets they would clad sterling silver to a copper core and then roll it out to create the metal sheets or "plate" used to make the service out of. Since most of this industry was located in the city of Sheffield it came to be known as Sheffield plate.

Don't forget the silver clad Kennedy Halves from 1965 through 1970 & 1976 - as well as the silver clad Ikes from 1971 through 1974 & 1976 - and the 1976 silver clad quarter.

Haven't forgotten them but..............they has 80% Copper 20% Silver Cores.

I think the op is referring to solid copper cores/coins with silver cladding.

It's what we numismatists refer to as a Cracker Jack coin. If you cut it open, you'll see, there's a prize inside.
