During a discussion with another cointalk member just recently I misunderstood as he was speaking about a 1983D ddo. I read his reply as 1983D ddr and went off on a journey ,albeit a short journey, to find this variety of which spoke of, or so I thought. I knew of the 83D DDO and also the the one coin I've been searching since day one of my hobby was the elusive 1983phili DDR, so i was surprised to hear about this . It just so happens i had a bag of 83 D pennies and after a quik pass I found one beat up cent that to me could have a chance but I wasnt gonna get my hopes up( the jury is still out). Then this morning while preparing for work I noticed a half empty penny roll from the other day and proceeded to finish what I had started earlier in the week. The first coin I plucked from the small mound of zinc I poured under my light was low and behold a 1983 D. With the confusion of the DDR still fresh in my head I went directly to the reverse and was immediately surprised. With the naked eye I could see some very interesting mishapen and plump Lettering. I think to myself, my fellow member was right and I'm not mistaken. Such wasn't the case, upon reviewing our conversation I saw a reply about where to see pictures of the 83D ddo, now I knew I was mistaken after all. I clicked on the link and there on the screen was the obverse of the coin I had in my hand. I've yet to find images of the reverse side of the 83D, all I have is my own and nothing to reference to. So to cut this short I ask, what's up the reverse of the 83D? Is it DDR? Am I a not only half whit but struggling with a vision disorder as well? Take look and if any owners of this variety or any seasoned members have the answers I'm looking for please respond, and those who feel like taking a jab at my lame identification abilities go ahead, I'm pretty thicked skinned and need to hear the cold hard truth if I'm gonna learn anything. Thanks everyone.

And as always, my equipment is what I call crap grade so I apologize for the rough pictures, one day I will equipy self properly, I promise.
