So anyone can mint old Ikes or Kennedys dated before 1973 and not face counterfeiting charges? That can't be right.
One is a fake coin, never was minted at the mint. The other is a coin that came from the mint and someone made changes to it with small tools, changing the original design.
I have been hunting for a "Morgan silver dollar that was milled out and had threads put on it to sue as a "coke" box back in 1800's when Coke was legal. I am sure they have a high price

Pretty cool coin. I don't know how to grade these but yours is nice. It's worth several hundred dollars.
On a slightly more legal angle I used to work with a guy who was a major jerk. He would borrow your newspaper and cut out all the ads. Then he’d want to go to lunch and demand you order what he did. He had a BOGO coupon and expect you to pay for his lunch since he had the “get one free coupon” well he never pulled anything on me but he always wanted to flip for who bought lunch. Well I noticed he ALWAYS called heads. So when the ticket came I’d have a quarter in my hand, heads up I’d then slam it on the table and said “Call it”. He always called heads and I’d lift my hand, show the coin that was tails, hand him the ticket and walked out. Ate free for 2 years. He never figured it out.
I understand this thread was started in 2004 and I didn't read most of it. I just had fun seeing how many members posting that long ago are still with us on Coin Talk.
