Is my tribute penny real? And how much is it worth?

    I happen to own a fouree Tribute Penny that very likely was a counterfeit. The devices and legends follow the official Roman pattern closely, but as you can see, time has stripped the piece of its silver plating...

    Fourree TP's are common as are denarii of all of the Julio Claudians. The interesting part of the Indian is that the metal is good but no one could believe the dies were official. No one was fooled; no one was cheated.

    That font looked weird, very "bold".

    Hi Gabby. It's impossible to say anything about your coin without more information. Can you post large images and give us the weight in grams and diameter in millimeters?
