This coin is supposed to be a cameo pr70 .I understand it is not graded by PCGS or NGC so probably not the right grade.Had the coin about a year but it has started to go misty grey ,I also have 1980s proof sets going the same way.should I crack the coins out of sets and try to dip them or keep them in sets to see what tone they become?
    What do you think
Answers and comments much appreciated thanks

Are you using the correct white balance in the taking of these photogs? The coin appears golden to me.

Why can't it be BOTH toned AND doomed? There's nothing antithetical about the two. The grade on the slab is a sick joke.

Not to mention the slab lining looks like styrofoam plucked from the packing aisle at Walmart!

It looks like haze. I’d crack it out of the noname holder and store it in a different place, along with your mint/proof sets. Toning on silver coins is a great thing, but haze is a problem.

I'd crack it out and put it in a flip or an airtight to protect it. The grade is a joke. Don't dip it unless you want to remove the Mint luster. I think dipping will lower the value and hurt the coin.

You’d be better off listening to us (CT community) than to someone who gives advice on YouTube. I believe @Insider can tell you what to do with those coins... I am not really into proof coins.

I have been told by an expert I trust, but I have not tried it myself, that “soapy ammonia” is a good option for “proof coin haze”. I’m not surprised acetone failed.

YouTube is a HORRIBLE source for numismatic knowledge. The incentives are for getting clicks, not truth.

Yes. Please leave them. They are yours of course to do with what you please. But a busted up mint set is asking for damage.
