Good morning! I'm not sure if this 1954 Lincoln Coin has PMD "Bie"/Diechip on the 9 or irs simply due to the rust. If it's due to rust or age , than the rest of the date would be damaged on the coin, but it's not flat. Also a small BIE in liberty Also not really an error but grading. The second picture wondering if I should get it graded based on its age and condition. I'm still a bit new too coin collecting, started years ago and gave up after losing as few half dollars, so types are appreciated . Sn: waiting for my USB camera so excuse any shakiness-Thanks
The die chip in the '9' of the date is fairly common - there are numerous examples of die chips in the date area and in Liberty on Lincoln Cents. They have very little value, as they are easily found in groups of Wheat Cents that most coin shops have. Your coin is also corroded - it would not get a numerical grade, and if the corrosion wasn't there, it's still not worth spending any money on getting it graded or certified. Enjoy it as an example of a die chip - nothing more, nothing less (other than the corrosion)
Thank you!! I am referring to the 1959 in terms of grading. I've seen a few other examples pulled from cirulation but they had their coins graded. Lincolns neck had a small scatch or "vamp mark " idk if that's the correct term, so feel free to correct me. Basically what's grade worthy
