Yes, it is exactly where I meant it to be. The point I was making is that when it comes to one's opinion on what is going on or likely to happen in the coin market, that dealers are just as susceptible to making mistakes as anybody else is.
I don't believe coin collectors lose interest as much as they just go through burn out phases for awhile. Back in the bad old days you could spend months trying to find a fairly common coin at shows. Or worse you could go insane sending coins back to mail order dealers because their grading was one, two or ten tokes over the line. Thanks to the Internet, on-line auctions, trading rooms ect. what used take months may take hours. And if you look at decent images, you have a better idea of what your really getting. At least a better idea than a price list describing a skank as: "up and coming." From the Internet we can just get too much, too fast. How can that not affect us? The Internet only promised to make us all The Master of the Universe. It didn't say anything about repealing the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility. https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...RbQGFA&usg=AFQjCNH-atedRmjAeM1ovkrccrp6ThZV2A
Definitely burn-out, and a few other factors. Just this month, one close coin friend of mine decided to abruptly take a time-out from coins, another is abruptly selling his entire collection for personal reasons, and wont be buying anything new. Me, I have zero coin money for the foreseeable future do to a legal bill and Christmas, so I wont be buying anything either. Also, I am taking a little breather from CT and spending a lot less time here rather recently. So, it's funny, three months ago the above reference "three amigos" were 100% focused on coins and coin purchases. We would have never said any, let alone all three of us, would be stopping coin purchases and cooling down for an unspecified amount of time. But here we are... For me, I'm only minorly burned-out, and have NO interested in selling my CAC coins. I am still actively looking to plug holes, but the coins I need are getting much harder to come by in grades within my price range. I hope coins come down in price!
