Is it illegal to UNknowingly sell a counterfeit?

    Yep, when I see these nekorthreads, I usually go to the end to see what the new poster is doing. They are usually advised to start new thread, which is what @Tj Shreves should do if he is still around.

    I would say no. But once the item is confirmed to be a counterfeit, you shouldn't get anything for it when it's confiscated.

    I base this on the same as if someone gave me a counterfeit $20.00 in my change and then unknowingly to me that it's counterfeit, I turned around and try to use that same counterfeit $20.00 to buy something somewhere else. If they find that it's counterfeit at the time I'm trying to use it to purchase something, it's confiscated and I don't get a replacement in return.

    And we've all read stories about classic cars that someone had for years and put tons of their own money into restoring it, only to find out years later that it's a stolen car from the 60's or 70's. The car gets confiscated and returned to the original owner and the guy who restored it gets nothing in return.

    Sort of like that, I would assume.
