    and your coin is die deterioration, at least on the date ...

    Split plate doubling. Extremely common on copper plated zinc.

    Nope. Not doubled die. Split plating and md as the two said above.

    naw i hate those i get the same answer its confused with dd but they are not truely in all reality it looks double its caused by the mint but ?

    This particular coin was not caused by the mint. This was caused by the zinc rotting away.

    below is a picture, that is not my coin. But here is where the mint did cause split plating. Usually if split plating is caused by the mint, its because its a major error. Below you will see what happens with a Broad strike 62564311.jpg

    Yes. This is correct. It was caused by the mint and is not zinc rot.
