    The details are clearer on the new coin, but there are less of them.
    What do the ancient collectors feel about these misstrikes?

    I actually like the dramatic off-center strike - it really adds character and it reminds us that these coins were struck in traveling mints under presumably very primitive conditions. Besides, the devices that are on the planchet are all well defined.
    A definite keeper!

    ps- I also have a tendency to buy upgrades to coins I already have with a type that I like, (and keep all of them).

    Looks like an upgrade to me. The off-centeredness leaves the most interesting parts on-flan, and so just gives your coin the hand-made charm that makes ancients so fun.
