Is ironing low-value paper money acceptable for appearance?

didn't think about the washer bags. I don't think I knew about them back then.
At times i wonder if i enjoyed collecting more when I didn't have a clue about conserving coins, currency and other collectibles.

    Money Laundering ....

I think an iron would scorch the paper. I have gently soaked some unimportant circulated paper money in the sink with some dawn and warm water, rinsed it off and let it dry flat on the clean kitchen countertop and it looked better to me, but it wasn't anything special, maybe a star or Barr note or an older series that is still found in making change.

Currency paper is pretty sturdy. I read someplace the BEP used to launder their bills. I assumed they dryed them in a bin hot air dryer. I've never scorched a bill. However, some did shrink a little bit.
