Perhaps they learned a lesson from the casinos. Every casino has the same slot machines and table games, the customers choose their casino based on the big beautiful hotel, restaurants, and player card perks. In the spirit of the casino analogy, ICG is a Days Inn, a McDonalds, and free parking!
So you are saying that ICG is content to be a small grading company with a questionable reputation? I find that hard to believe and I think they want nothing more than to increase their market share of the coin grading market. Skip told us that he was put in charge of the coin chat rooms, but he got himself banned from CU, and he posts things like post #255 in this thread. If anyone at ICG was watching, he would probably no longer be charged with monitoring the coin forums.
I don't know what their goals are...but I do know that not every company strives to be the top of their field. Some look for a niche market.
Sometimes I wonder what the snacks are there . Too much sugar?, glue solvent in the break room To be honest ICG would be a nice place to work if it wasn't in Fkorida. Camaro, I actually had bought a house north of newport , walking distance to the ocean , until on inspection , the Mine ( unknown to me previously) on the other side of the hill started blasting and trucks rolling. I passed. Jim
I have, what I consider, some accurately graded amazing coins from all 4 TPGs. I’ve also bought some real head scratchers from all 4 TPGs. “Buy the coin” is such a cliche around here, but so accurate. I will say the PCGS Coinfacts app is pretty darn amazing.
How much would you like to bet that I have never worked for PCGS or CU since you like to imply it? 100k? Anything less than that wouldn't be worth even risking a trust bet that you found out my identity
I'm not "accusing a casino." I'm saying, based on your comment as to how you think folks choose which casinos to patronize, that you don't live in Vegas. And I'm guessing you don't spend a lot of time there, either.
I am an Atlantic City guy, so I only get to Vegas every so often, but I guess this is where you tell me, a person with over 20 years experience working in the casino business, and another 10 as a professional poker player, how people choose which casino to patronize? Go ahead, embarrass yourself.
