Is Anybody Buying Anything From The Mint?

I’m just curious. I went over the Mint release schedule — following the cancellation of the 2022 Morgan and Peace — and saw nothing interesting enough to me to buy.

Anyone else have the same reaction?

I've had that reaction ever since the late '60s/early '70s.

I only bought the colorized purple heart coin for a gift. I am still keeping my proof set current and I wanted to keep the silver proof set current now that they are .99 silver. Nothing else really looks that great.

The short version-nothing more from the Mint. I'm currently working on Great Britain 3 & 6 pence, Newfoundland 5 cents and various Canada series.

    Buying anything from the Mint???

The short answer is no!...the long answer is also no! (There are a couple which are interesting/attractive to me, but not enough to buy. :smug:)

The JFK matte half was the last thing I found interesting. When was that, 1998?

The interesting stuff so far is sold out like the Navy medal, the baseball privy/two coin medal set etc. The marine medal will be interesting, as will the 1 oz coast guard/air force assuming any of these dont get pushed back as well. Theres a few other things that could be but they havent released enough details yet.

Commems, proof and uncirculated sets as well as ASE's. Guess I'm an exception........

That's actually kind of impressive. There must be a gravity well surrounding your house though. It's a well known fact that once you have purchased 75 years of mint issues you will reach critical mass and a black hole will suddenly appear in your closet/safe. Keep your pets a minimum of 10 feet clear of the door. If you want, warn the wife.

I've cut back dramatically but I'll still pull the trigger occasionally.
Currently agonizing over keeping my silver proof sets complete.
Snagged a women's suffrage BU silver dollar because I thought it might be the smallest mintage number among modern commems (it wasn't).
Bought the Apollo 11 half dollar set. A 2021 Peace and Morgan.
    Stuff like that

I’d like to buy a silver Proof set if I can.

I was silly enough to buy a Negro Baseball League coin set. I like the $5 gold commemoratives and the multi coin sets.

Out of everything I like the negro leagues baseball proof $5. Not that I can afford it but its important enough to stand out.

The $5 gold Purple Heart proof is really nice too. Once again, can't afford.

So, another year of nothing from me.

I bought a brown box Ike in 1971. Nothing since. Now that was a great investment!

Haven't bought anything from the mint since 2008, and that was at the gift shop of the Denver mint after a tour. I liked the 2016 gold 100th anniversary coins but didnt want to spend the money. I'm waiting for a suitable 2021 Peace Dollar on ebay but Im in no rush.

Wouldn't mind flipping some stuff but their stupid website is the worst.

No. I had been buying from the mint since 1959. I quit. Too much junk at too much of a premium.
