Is a used proof coin with scratches better than a perfect condition uncirculated coin?

    Logic is kind of like statistics...neither is taught anymore and most people abuse/misuse both.

    first of proof is a method of manufacture not the condition of the coin. most coin collectors know this. See Mike mezak, lmao, but seriously, uncirculated business strikes are made entirely differently. So, OP you really can't compare the two because the method of manufacture is completely different. exceptions are made to some of the rules, it is the job of the coin collector find out what those are. A wise coin guru once said, "collect what you like."
