I've had the app for a while now and just got the update. I like the app and think that it was worth the money. It is fast and easy, and I like the fact that they added the PM calculator to the app, makes buying bullion on the fly a little easier I think. But all in all a great app that I've never had a problem with. I haven't tried the part of the app that allows you to take a picture and send it in for grading opinions, but I've heard it's pretty neat part of the app. Just not sure how long it takes to get an answer back.

I'm definitely going to check it out! You should read my review on NGC's Mobile App. It gives a fairly broad range of things it can do for you so you can make a better decision if you want it.

I have made and released a few android apps, and you can either choose to charge for it or include ads in it to monitize it. You could make it free with no ads if you wanted. Some even use in-app billing so that can release it free and charge the user to "unlock" the full version, like a demo.

I'm not sure how the iPhone does it.

The iphone has similar functionality. I don't see an issue with charging for an app if the programmer wants to do that. You're free to buy or not buy it. But to use an app to download another app that there is a charge for is not right. Same as stealing in my opinion.

How is different from the NGC app?

    edit:

the NGC app is pretty useful but i need something for unslabbed NGC coins.

Unless I'm mistaken, NGC's app just came out and I haven't downloaded it yet.
If you're a dealer who will only buy or sell at PCGS, Graysheet, or NGC pricing then I would stick with those subscriptions or apps.

My prices are closer to market value in my opinion, and includes melt calculators for gold and silver. You can also send in images of your coins to have them identified and appraised for free. I'm constantly adding more to the app.

I will note that some users leave feedback about prices "being off". (Compared to what??) One user will say Morgan prices are too high, the next that they're too low. You can't please everyone.

    I bought it today, i really like it except I would like it alot better if the owner(s) could fix 2 things;

The background of the main screen is kind of ugly, maybe make a option to change the colours to black/red/orange/green, etc.

And label the pictures of the main screen, like the walking liberty camera, s, g, $ sign. Like mintages, appraisels, bullion calculator, settings, etc.

The app is for a beginner or someone that simply wants to know the key dates for many different series' of coins.

I believe there are not enough grades to make this useful to the experienced numismatist. Most coin values stop at 63 and many only have 2-6 grade values for the entire series.

For Ike and Kennedy's; TWO grades and their perspective values is simply not enough. The difference between a couple of grades could mean hundreds if not thousands of dollars........even for moderns. So having ONE or TWO grades for a circulation strike and ONE grade for a proof is simply not enough.

In all fairness, the app has SERIOUS potential and is well laid out. Lincoln wheats, Jeffs, Washingtons have 6-8 grades, so better than Ikes and Kennedys. MORGANS have 9 grades and values  Most series stop at MS63, so don't expect higher grade values.

Nice analysis. I just like the fact I can have it on my phone. I don't care if I have to pay a couple of bucks or whatever for it, it just comes in handy. I travel a lot and sometimes when on the road I will venture into a coin shop and shop around. It is nice to have this app as a "goto" for some basic information like mintage and some approximate price.

I downloaded that NGC one and I guess that's good if the slab is graded by NGC.
