I've used a couple of specialized software over the years such as Bento, which was a database software, and the problem I ran into was that because there wasn't a big enough audience the software stopped being made/updated.</p><p><br /></p><p>Being a "Mac" person I always enjoy have a graphical interface versus just using Excel but in the end I decided that what I really needed was a piece of software that would be there in 10, 20, or 30 years. Right now Excel looks like that piece of software so I migrated all my data into Excel.
