Great idea and tip. Thanks for sharing this with us. I think I'm going to start doing this myself. It can up to a decent amount of money. Out of curiosity though, where would you go to melt down the copper or sell it as the copper weight?
the best way to cash in pre-82 coppers is through ebay, but I don't think you'll get the full coinflation melt prices for those, rather, you'll most likely get the current price of bronze or brass for them, which is less valuable as alloys than the individual, separate metals in their purest states, especially if you look at the "recycle" prices of bronze or brass.
