I for one am "not seeing the love" for these coins. If the coins I see on t.v. are any indication of the design of the Washington dollar, then forget it. As I understand it, the mint is releasing the coins to the Feds. already in rolls, not in the traditional bags with subsequent rolling by a third party for distribution. I haven't seen what packaging the mint is going to sell their rolls in for the "collector" yet.

I'll probably wait and see what they have in mind and order a couple of P&D rolls. If it's basically the same as the Sac's, then I'll subscribe the same as I have for the Sacagawea, 2 rolls of each and put them away. In my humble opinion, this program is a little different from the state quarters. At least with that program, there was a real interest in what each persons individual state coin was like. In this case I only have an interest in the "big hitters", Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, and maybe some others I can't bring to mind, like Ike, but really don't care about a lot of them. Just like a lot of the commem's the mint issues. Now if I could buy a $25.00 roll for $25.00 then my feeling would be, what have you got to lose. The only ones that have any eye appeal at all are the proofs, and I get them with the yearly set anyway, the better strikes, I am told are in the mint sets, and I get them anyway. Just like the Sac's, what's so special about these?? I can see some of the interest in the "westward journey nickle series, with the "common" Jefferson scheme and different facial profiles on the obverse, and different designs on the reverse for a couple of years and then revert back to a fixed pocket change design to be used for who knows how long. I think it should be labeled a dollar commem. with a mintage of 500,000 or so and let it go at that. The dollar coin is a failed idea to begin with, the public doesn't want it and didn't use it. I see on the hype on t.v. about the collector value of these coins, and then see that they've already got them "encapsulated by the official grading service of the industry" as brilliant uncirculated..!!???....so basically they're crap.
