Speedy, I will go to FUN show tommorow. When I return I will try to post pics. Meanwhile, I will show coin to interested parties and post replys. Take a look in the new Cherrypickers and look at the photos of the different shape Esses on the dime and quarters from around this year. As to the pointed/knob Esses note that the point is located on top and knob on bottom of the S. on virtually all of the coins shown, as on the breen photo posted here. It appears to me that telling from the shape of your coins S. that you have the same coin or at least the same M.M. logo as used on my quarter. No disrespect toward the other Coneca guys out there as I enjoy and respect their work. Just a different take on the subject. If I did not believe my coin to be inverted S., I would have probably sold it 10-15 years ago. P.S. It is possible that as your coins S has a tick on it near the pointed edge that it appears as a knob. Perhaps that adds to the confusion. It is not that way on my coin...It is pointed and clear. I believe that yours appears to be the same logo, and probably the same die. G.L. ... O.T.
Thanks alot---that will be great to hear what others have to say! I haven't gotten a copy of the new Cherrypicker's guide yet so I can't look at that---but I think my dealer has one... Speedy
