Interesting very thick old coin from Ceylon

    Here's a neat 1802 Ceylon 1/24 Riksdollar copper coin. it's about 19mm in diameter and a very thick 8.7mm thick!! For it's size, it's the thickest coin I ever had.

    Yeah great coins issued by us. I don't have this one but I have the 1/12 which is crazy thick !

    oh wow, that's awesome. i've seen these before bud had no idea they were that thick. just went on my to get list.

    Where do you hunt for coins like this? EBay? Very cool.

    All the rixdollars are in my wanted list. The silver rixdollar is currently out of my range. I have complete Ceylon stiver set and other British silver decimal set complete albeit some low grade coins. I primarily collect European crowns but completing all British colonial issues both stamps and coins of Ceylon is a side project as i was born there.
