Photos shared with permission from the person who found it. This is not my discovery! I think it is exciting because it is from Denver. I see fewer than 10% non Denver coins in my searching!
Thank you, but the find is not mine. I indicated the photos were used with permission from the person who found it. OP edited to reflect that!
Not to be a bummer, Pete did you find any other doubling on the devices? I have seen a couple 2018D's like this. Think I stashed them away. But I couldn't find any other evidence of Die Doubling. I wrote them off as a slightly filled die or a well placed die chip.
I am unable to answer - as I said previously, this is not my coin. I am just sharing (with permission) because I thought a D mint Variety such as this is not that common on LSC coins.
I agree that Denver tends to have less problems in the minting process than Philly. Have you talked to him about sending the coin to be attributed? Doubled ears are my favorite. Some experts feel the the 97 is nothing more than a die chip.
Meow has found two 2019 d, and a 2015 d, like this. No one here was convinced. But it sure looks like the state/ATB quarter doubled dies.
So its true? Meow has found legit Doubled die pennies? Please refer to Meow's old posts for pic of Meow's.
Found some! Meow has started several threads like this. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/2018d-doubled-ear-penny.341488/ https://www.cointalk.com/threads/doubled-ear-or-pmd.337547/ Meow is not sure Meow made a thread of the 2015 d penny like these so here are the pic of that one.
