These came in a large lot. The reverse is blank on both tokens. It's cool to find a cud but to find 2 of the same cuds DSC07289.JPG DSC07290 (1).JPG DSC07290.JPG DSC07291 (1).JPG DSC07291.JPG is really cool!

Speisehallen = dinning hall, Great token, you've got a free drink, or something, do not get to excited over the cud...

The depicted beer bottle suggests that those were used as deposit tokens. :) And a Freihafen is a free port, customs wise. Hamburg for example (where your tokens could be from) used to have a free port in the city, with its own "border" and checkpoints. This way ships in transit would not have to pay import duty.

Those Speisehallen were nothing fancy by the way. They were places where the port/dock workers would get an inexpensive meal ...

As an error hunter, cuds are always neat yet hard to find. And, I've never seen one on a token before. Then, to find a matching one is way cool. Just thought I would share MY cool recent find.

And thanks for the information about the token.

I too collect cuds. Here is a big cud on a 1967 US nickel. :)
