I said well, I don't usually buy silver at it's bullion price, but I'd be willing to make an offer, so he pulled me into his office and said that his 80-year-old+ grandmother has been "collecting" any silver coin she comes across for decades and she wants to sell. So anyway, I've offered to make an offer for the hoard, and I'm hoping that it turns out that this might actually be an unsearched lot! It is possible, I guess. Anyway his grandmother has emailed me and I've emailed back so I'm waiting for the next step. We'll see, it should be fun though!

I've been around, but just quiet. I actually had gone almost a month without sorting a box of halves, but then yesterday I got a box at a new 5/3 Bank in the next town over, and it was fabulous!! 42 silver coins including: 1 1945, 1 1963, 1 1964, 1 1964D, and 38 40% silver halves. Also I found 1 2005P and 3 mid-80's halves in AU+ condition that I kept. I found a 1967 that is BEATIFULLY toned golden and green and light rose colorred! My wife has the camera right now, so I will post pics once she gets home. It's boxes like this that keep me searching!! Additionally, one of the managers at the bank came up to me after he'd unlocked the vault for the teller to get the coins and asked if I was a collector. I told him that mostly I was searching for silver and he said "Do you buy silver? We have a customer who has some to sell." I said well, I don't usually buy silver at it's bullion price, but I'd be willing to make an offer, so he pulled me into his office and said that his 80-year-old+ grandmother has been "collecting" any silver coin she comes across for decades and she wants to sell.
