Do you mean 1942 non-silver Jefferson, since they only made silver in 1943. If on the otherhand the date is definitely 1943 _and_ it doesn't have a large mint mark on the back, it could be a rare counterfeit nickel which would be a pretty wonderful find!
$100 Star note Well folks, I never thought I woul dbe lucky enough to post in this forum but here we go: Sold a lot of coins that weren't worth much more than melt value to a local dealer this evening. All in all for the 2 of us, it was a little over $2000 worth. Being the anal retentive NCO that I am, I was placing the $100 bills they paid me in in serial number order. Low and behold as I was puttign them away I see a $100 Star note from the 2001 series. CF00036760* Anything I shoudl rememebr later on in life about this bill?
Lucky! I'm a kid and have no job, and my parents don't work with change (nurse and home improvements) so I never find anything good from circulation
Got a $1 star note in change today: 2003 F04890673*. And Friday at work found a crisp, AU - maaaybe CU - old style 1990 $50 bill. ~AJM
i live in europe and because of having euros there isin't many interesting coin finds, the most exciting finds i've had was a 2 euro coin from some other far away european country and a 20 euro note on the floor.
Yea, that's nice on euro that you can make a collection of coins from all the countries... similar to statehood quarters in US the 20 Euro note was a nice find i only ever found one note on the ground, it was worth about 60 US cents
The only problem with collecting euros( at least 1 and 2 euro coins) is to get tempted and use them, actually i'll maby collect euro cents, that would be interesting and not to dificault.
seems that this seller is innocent here (though ignorant). I contacted him to let him know it is a fake and he said that under a glass it shows an outline of the 4 still so he is contacting the person who sold it to him and he's removed the listing. He's an upright seller afterall.
France. 1960. 1 Franc. About Fine. Looks to be about the size of a quarter. :smile :smile :smile :smile
My best find from "circulation" was a mule / non-mule / mule changeover triplet, Series 1981 $1 FRNs, star notes on the Kansas City FRB, in CU condition. It was from a pack of new notes I got through my register at the place I worked in the early 1980s. I still have them. This should give you some hints on just how old I am and how long I've been a paper money geek.
Walking by a CoinStar machine yesterday, I noticed a cent on the ground. Stopped to pick it up (of course) and it was a 1948-S wheat!
