Two more silver dimes today... another 62-D and 63-D. That's a total of 17 silver dimes so far where I work! Should buy up a bunch of their dime rolls some time to search through, if I can find this many just loose in the drawer or when I get more change for the drawer.
Yesterday at work I found a 1999-S clad Connecticut quarter. Its finish was scuffed to cloudiness on the raised areas, but no big gouges or scratches.
Yay CT Well I have been busy searching rolls of half dollars. So far every batch has been productive. I was getting 12 rolls at a time. So yesterday I went to the same bank and was told "Oh we turned them all in". I said what? She said that they gave all remaining rolls back to their supplier. I guess they saw I was having too much fun. So I hit another bank. 5 rolls in the whole bank, those rolls had pure junk. Went to a third bank and got 12 rolls. Came home and found a 1954 Franklin, 1964 Kennedy and 3 or 4 good pre 1970 Kennedys. Went back on the hunt for another Franklin I hoped. Got 16 more rolls. Found another 1964 and a 1968, 1969 and a couple of 1980's D mints to fill in some holes in my Whitman. Went back again today and cleaned them out, 19 rolls (all they had left). Found two 1944 Walking Libertys :hail: one 1967 and one 1969D plus a 1979 Susan B. Anthony thrown in a roll for good measure. Now I have to find another bank. By the way the $10 rolls of junkers are spent at the stores and gas stations.
Two (old) Buffalo nickels from the same roll (handroled, from the bank). One was worn dateless and theother was a solid Good condition 1936.
1944 Mercury Dime I just got back from a local Russian grocery store where we buy our vegetables and picked up a 1944 Mercury Dime showing about 50% bands at the register. The woman in line before me paid with it and I asked the cashier. We had a communication problem for her English was very limited so I wound up giving her a dollar bill for 10 dimes....one of which was the Merc. Based on quotes on www.coinflation.com my find is worth at least $.86 Happy Hunting
I don't know about you guys, but all I ever use is my debit card. Rare monetary exchange. But I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night! (wink, wink)
I went to QuikTrip the other day and got 2 silver coins in change.....not really worth anything but still worth the silver!
woot. just found a 1930-s Buffalo nickel! it was acutally in my moms change, but i saw it and yanked it out, and showed her. its in pretty good condition too.
I checked the coinstar machine last night for rejects and I found a pile of coins sitting on top that someone left there. They must have all been rejects and the previous owner must have been lazy and just left them there. I found a 1996 washington quarter, a pretty banged up zinc penny, 1943 non silver jefferson nickel, an arcade game token, a city bus token, 5 crozy polish coin, 20 lira coin from the vatican and an elongated cent.
